Beacon is an AI assistant that lives on every page in Doris. It knows the context of whatever you’re looking at — a deal, a company, a contact, a presentation, or a document — and can answer questions, make edits, and take action without switching pages.

Opening Beacon

Click the Doris icon in the bottom-right corner of any page to open Beacon. It appears as a floating panel alongside your current view. Beacon automatically knows the context of the page you’re on. Open it on a deal page and it knows that deal. Open it on a presentation and it knows those slides. Open it on a meeting transcript and it knows the full conversation.

What Beacon can do

Ask questions in context

“What are the main risks in this deal?”“Summarize the last meeting with this contact.”“What objections has this company raised?”

Edit presentations

“Change the title slide to say Q2 Pipeline Review.”“Make the background darker on slide 3.”“Add a slide about our competitive advantages.”

Edit documents

“Rewrite the executive summary to be more concise.”“Add a section about implementation timeline.”“Fix the pricing table to reflect the new tiers.”

Take action

“Create a follow-up email for this deal.”“Draft a proposal based on our last call.”“Build a presentation for my meeting tomorrow.”

Editing with Beacon

On presentation and document editor pages, Beacon can directly edit your content. When you ask for a change:
  1. Doris proposes edits — Changes appear as a diff card in the chat, showing exactly what will be added, modified, or removed
  2. Review each change — Each operation has its own accept or reject button so you stay in control
  3. Changes apply immediately — Accepted edits are applied to your content in real time

Presentation editing

When editing presentations, Beacon can:
  • Add, remove, or reorder slides
  • Change text content, headings, and captions
  • Update colors, backgrounds, and design elements
  • Add charts, images, and shapes
  • Modify slide layouts and block positioning
Diff cards for presentations include color swatches when design properties change, so you can see exactly what the new colors will look like before accepting. Slide thumbnails in the filmstrip show indicators when they have pending edits, so you always know which slides have been changed.

Document editing

When editing documents, Beacon can:
  • Rewrite or restructure sections
  • Add new content based on deal context
  • Fix formatting, grammar, and tone
  • Insert tables, lists, and other elements
Document diffs show inline before-and-after previews so you can see exactly how the text will change.

Conversations

Each Beacon conversation is private to you — other team members on the same deal, presentation, or document have their own separate threads. Start a new conversation anytime by clicking the + button in the Beacon header. Your previous conversations are preserved.

Expanded mode

On non-editor pages, click the expand button in the Beacon header to open it in a larger, fullscreen-like view. This gives you more space for longer conversations and complex outputs.
Beacon works best when you’re specific. Instead of “make this better,” try “rewrite the executive summary to focus on ROI and keep it under 3 paragraphs.”
