Connect Gong if your team already records sales meetings in Gong and wants those calls to flow into Doris automatically. Gong-sourced meetings appear in Meetings with transcripts, deal evidence, and AI analysis.
Doris Notetaker is the default meeting capture path. Gong is optional. When Gong is enabled, Doris disables native notetaker auto-join while Gong provides meeting transcripts.

Prerequisites

Before connecting Gong to Doris, make sure you have:
  • Admin access in Doris
  • Gong Admin Center access
  • Permission in Gong to create Automation Rules and webhook rules
  • Gong admin access to generate an API access key and access key secret
  • A connected CRM in Doris, preferably before enabling Gong, so calls can be linked back to the right companies and deals

Setup

1

Open the Gong setup wizard

In Doris, open Sources > Meeting Intelligence > Gong. You can also go to Settings > Admin > Notetaker and enable Gong.
2

Copy the webhook URL

Doris shows a unique webhook URL for your workspace. Copy the full URL exactly as shown.
3

Create the Gong automation rule

In Gong, go to Admin Center > Settings > Ecosystem > Automation Rules. Create a new webhook rule, set the trigger to New Call, and paste the Doris webhook URL.
4

Paste the Gong public key

After creating the webhook rule, Gong shows a Public Key. Copy it and paste it into Doris. Doris uses this key to verify that incoming webhooks came from Gong.
5

Create Gong API credentials

In Gong, go to Company Settings > API and choose Get API Key. Copy the Access Key and Access Key Secret. The secret is only shown once.
6

Finish in Doris

Paste the access key and secret into Doris, then click Connect Gong. Doris will confirm the connection and disable native notetaker auto-join while Gong is active.

What Happens Next

Once Gong is connected:
  • Gong sends new call events to Doris through the webhook rule
  • Doris uses the Gong API credentials to fetch call transcripts
  • Gong calls appear in Meetings
  • Calls are linked to the relevant deals, companies, and contacts when CRM context is available
  • Doris uses the transcript for deal evidence, follow-up, qualification, and answers from Home

Rep Filtering with Salesforce

If your organization has a Salesforce CRM connected with specific reps selected for tracking, Doris will only process Gong calls from those tracked reps. This prevents unnecessary processing of calls from reps outside your tracked list. How it works:
  • Gong sends Salesforce User IDs for internal call participants in the webhook payload
  • Doris checks these IDs against your Salesforce connection’s tracked reps list
  • If the rep is tracked (or no specific reps are selected), the call is processed normally
  • If the rep is not in the tracked list, the call is ignored
If you want Doris to process calls from all reps, leave the tracked reps list empty in your Salesforce connection settings. Doris will accept calls from everyone.
Rep filtering only applies when you have a Salesforce CRM connected with specific reps selected. Without a Salesforce connection, all Gong calls are processed.

Tips & Troubleshooting

If calls are not appearing in Doris, check that the Gong automation rule uses the New Call trigger and that the webhook URL, public key, access key, and access key secret were copied correctly.
If transcripts are not appearing, confirm that Gong has finished processing the recording and that the API key has access to call transcripts.
If Doris Notetaker stops joining meetings after Gong is connected, that is expected. Disable Gong if you want to return to native notetaker auto-join.
Disabling Gong stops Doris from processing new Gong webhooks. Existing Gong-sourced meetings and transcripts in Doris are not affected.
