The Commitments page gives you a single view of every open commitment across your deals. Doris captures commitments from your sales conversations automatically, tracks them to completion, and flags what needs attention — so nothing falls through the cracks.

Commitments Dashboard

Access the commitments dashboard from the Commitments link in the sidebar. It shows all open commitments across your pipeline, with three ways to view them:
  • Priority — Grouped by day, sorted by urgency so the most time-sensitive items are at the top
  • By Deal — Grouped by deal so you can see what’s outstanding on each opportunity
  • By Status — Grouped by pending, overdue, and completed
A summary bar at the top shows your total open, overdue, and completed counts at a glance.

Priority Scoring

In the priority view, commitments are ranked by a combination of:
  • Recency — How recently the commitment was made
  • Priority — The importance of the commitment to the deal
  • Health — Whether the commitment is on track or slipping
  • Staleness — How long it’s been since any activity
This keeps the most urgent items at the top without you needing to manually sort or triage.

Role-Based Views

What you see depends on your role:
  • Salespeople see their own commitments
  • Managers see their team’s commitments
  • Leaders see all commitments across the organization

How Commitments Are Captured

Doris extracts commitments from your sales conversations automatically:
  • Buyer commitments — Things the prospect agreed to do: send data, schedule a follow-up, loop in a decision maker, provide feedback
  • Seller commitments — Things your team promised: send a proposal, share pricing, arrange a demo, deliver a POC
Each commitment tracks status, owner type (buyer or seller), due date, and description. For more on how commitments work within a deal, see Deals — Commitments.

Automatic Fulfillment

Doris detects when a commitment has been fulfilled without any manual updates:
  • Email sent — When you send an email that delivers on a promise (like sharing a proposal), Doris matches it to the commitment and marks it complete
  • Meeting held — When a follow-up meeting happens that was promised, Doris links it to the commitment
  • Inbound emails — When a prospect follows through on their side (like sending data they promised), Doris detects it from incoming emails
Duplicate commitments captured across multiple calls are merged automatically so your list stays clean.

Dashboard Widget

A commitments widget on the home page shows a quick snapshot of your open and overdue commitments so you can see where things stand without navigating away.
Overdue buyer commitments are often an early signal that a deal is stalling. Check your commitments regularly to stay ahead of slipping deals.
