# Share a Recording

> Send a customer or colleague a link to a call recording and transcript, with an optional password, and revoke it when you're done.

A share link lets someone watch a call recording and read its transcript without a Doris account. Use it to send a recap to a customer, bring a colleague up to speed, or pass a call to someone who wasn't on it.

<Note>The link opens the **recording and the full transcript**. It does not expose the deal, the CRM record, or anything Doris extracted from the call. Only share a call you would be comfortable replaying in front of everyone who might receive the link.</Note>

## Create a link

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the call">
    Open **Meetings** from the sidebar and select the call. The recording must have finished processing — if it hasn't, sharing is unavailable and Doris will say so.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the options menu">
    Select the **⋯** menu at the top of the call and choose **Share recording**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a password (optional)">
    Type a password before creating the link if the recording should not open on the link alone. You can add, change, or remove it later.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create and copy">
    Select **Create & copy link**. The link is copied to your clipboard, ready to paste into an email or a message.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>If you set a password, send it separately. The link on its own will not open the recording, and Doris does not include the password anywhere in the link.</Warning>

## One link per recording

A recording has **one live link**, not one per click. Opening **Share recording** again on a call that already has a link shows you that link rather than minting a second one, so there is never a link in circulation you cannot see or revoke.

This is also why a password typed on the create screen is not applied to an existing link. Changing the credential on a link people already hold is a deliberate act — use the password field on the link itself.

## Manage a link you've already sent

Reopen **⋯ → Share recording** on the call. For each live link you can:

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Copy it again" icon="copy">
    Copy the link to your clipboard without creating a new one.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Set or change the password" icon="lock">
    Type a new password and select **Save**. The link itself does not change, so anyone still holding it will need the new password.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Remove the password" icon="lock-open">
    The link then opens for anyone who has it.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Revoke the link" icon="trash">
    Select **Revoke link**, then confirm. The link stops opening the recording immediately, for everyone.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

The dialog also shows whether a link is password protected and when it expires.

## Expiry

A link created from Doris expires **30 days** after it is made. Its expiry date is shown beside it in the share dialog. To keep sharing a call after that, create a new link.

## Revoking

Revoking is immediate and applies to everyone holding the link. There is no way to un-revoke — create a new link instead, which means sending the new one to anyone who still needs access.

Revoke when a deal closes, when someone leaves the buying group, or whenever you are no longer sure who has the link.

<Tip>Sharing highlights is a different thing. A **highlight reel** is a short edited video of the best moments, generated from the Options menu with **Generate Highlights** — see the [changelog](/changelog) for what it covers. A share link is the full recording and transcript.</Tip>
